Since my first two bets of the week were winners (and 2 of my biggest bets as well), I figure I'll try to ride my hot streak some more. I picked up three more games this morning.
Nebraska - 17 vs Washington
I have been eyeing this line all week hoping it would drop below 17 but it never did. I still think there's a lot of value with the Bugeaters here (yes, Nebraska used to be called the Bugeaters, no joke) simply because Taylor Martinez is an elite college quarterback. He can do a lot of damage by himself and it is always hard to play on the road in Lincoln.
Michigan State +5 @ Notre Dame
I planned on betting this game this morning instead of earlier in the week because of the public team in play (Notre Dame). The site I bet on has a lot of public-type bettors and very few sharps so I knew that Notre Dame would get bet up and they did. They opened the line at Notre Dame -2 and the public jumped at the chance to bet heavily on a team that last won a National Championship when I was learning how to piss in a toilet. Notre Dame is better than their record (0-2) but they're still not a great football team and they seem to invent a new way to lose each week.
Florida State +3.5 vs Oklahoma
Normally I try to stay away from the "big" games of the week because they are bet so much that there is very little value on the line but the half point swayed me here. This is Florida State's biggest game in a decade. This is their chance to return to the days of glory when they finished in the top 5 of the AP poll for 14 straight years. I also like that they are at home and I believe that Oklahoma is one of the worst great teams in college football (for the record, those teams are Florida State, Oklahoma, Stanford, LSU, Alabama, Wisconsin, and Boise) and I'm not sure how a young team is going to respond to this monster game. I could easily see myself losing this game but as you can already tell from a lot of my bets, I like home underdogs.
